Three‐dimensional ridge collapse mechanism for narrow soil slopes

نویسندگان

چکیده

Three-dimensional analysis of stability is carried out for slopes with the failure mechanism confined to a narrow space. A curvilinear cone surface modified by removing slice from its central portion, make fit in The resulting no longer smooth, and it referred as ridge distinct surface. based on appears yield lower factors than mechanisms used geotechnical engineering thus far. Kinematic limit utilized calculations provides an upper bound true factor solution, hence newly proposed delivers more accurate solution.

ASSESSEMENT OF SOIL COLLAPSE PREDICTION METHODS

Expansive and collapsible soils are some of the most widely distributed and costly of geologic hazards. These soils are subject to changes in volume and settlement in response to wetting and drying, often resulting in severe damage to structures. Collapsing soils are generally characterized by sudden and large volume decrease at constant stress when inundated with water. A geotechnical engineer...

Comparison of ridge expansion and ridge splitting techniques for narrow alveolar ridge in a Swine cadaver model.

Ridge splitting and ridge expansion have been used to expand narrow alveolar ridges. Piezosurgical ridge splitting involves separating the atrophic crests with piezosurgical inserts. Ridge expansion with motor-driven expanders was proposed to achieve the cortical dilation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of ridge gain by ridge expansion or ridge splitting. Eighteen (36 ra...

Normalizing to a unit plot of length 22.13 m, both the USLE and RUSLE use the equation Empirical soil erosion models continue to play an important role in soil conservation planning and environmental evaluations around L 5 (l/22.13) [2] the world. The effect of hillslope length on soil loss, often termed the where L is soil loss normalized to the 22.13-m-long slope length factor, is one...

Risk-based stabilization planning for soil cut slopes

Risk-based slope stabilization planning integrates the failure probability and the failure consequence systematically and shows promise for use in the practice. This paper attempts to develop a risk-based methodology for stabilization planning for deteriorating soil cut slopes. First, a framework of risk-based stabilization planning for slopes is proposed. Then the time-dependent reliability of...

An Ultralow Cross-Polarization Slot Array Antenna in Narrow Wall of Angled Ridge Waveguide

A low cross-polarization slot array antenna in the narrow wall of ridge waveguide is presented. A non-angled slot which is created in the narrow wall of the ridge waveguide is considered to be used as radiating resonant slot. The normalized resistance and normalized reactance curves are presented for design purposes. A six element slot array waveguide antenna with ridges on its narrow wall is t...
